Course Contents
Nature and goals of plant breeding. Patterns of evolution in cultivated species. Plant introduction and domestication. Breeding methods with self pollinated horticultural crops (Introduction, selection, Pure line breeding, mass selection, cross breeding), Breeding methods with coross pollinated horticultural crops (selection in cross pollinated crops, synthetic varieties, hybrid varieties). Polyploidi, male sterility in plant breeding. Clonal breeding methods in Horticulture.
