Objectives of the Course
It is aimed to teach to student, the steps of scientific research, preparation of research proposals, collection of data during practice, data analysis, preparation of report and result paper, information about research and publishing ethics and management of research.

Learning Outcomes
  1. Can explain the main points of scientific research methods.
  2. Can analyze the first step of scientific research that described as problem.
  3. Knows how to collect data and can analyse it.
  4. Learns proposal of a dissertation, literature scan, method determination, data collection, analyzing and reporting during writing a thesis.
  5. Can describe the concepts of research and publishing ethics, can define the responsibilities of researcher to make valid and reliable study in terms of ethics.
  6. Can define ethical requirements on clinical research and laboratory animal experiments.
  7. Learns how to design a research project and its requirements on the basis of disciplines of Research Ethics Committees.
  8. Learns the national and international ethico-legal regulations about research and publishing ethics.
  9. Can fulfill the requirements of publishing ethics when converting the research to a scientific paper.

Course Contents
The topics as scientific method, classification of research methods, literature review and describing the problem, sampling methods, data collection tools, quantitative and qualitative research methods, scientific reporting are taught in this lesson.The concept of research ethics, much-debated issues on research ethics, invasive and non-invansive clinical studies, performing reliable and valid animal experimentation from the point of science, scientific violation and how to avoid it and actions to be taken when encountered a violation are the other topics of this lesson.
