Objectives of the Course
The aim of this course is to provide knowledge, skills and competencies on spatial infrastructure in relation to design, development and solution assessments.

  1. Understand the historical development of Spatial Data Infrastructure (SDI) and basic SDI concepts (technical, organizational, legal and ethical).
  2. Understand standardization issues in relation to the International Standardization Organization (ISO), Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC) and INSPIRE
  3. Understand the role of SDI in e-Government.
  4. Understand various system design and implementation strategies for a SDI.
