Objectives of the Course
In this course, teachings of trematoda, cestoda, nematoda and acanthocepahala which are highly patogenes in domestic animals are aimed.

Learning Outcomes
  1. Ülkemizde görülen önemli helmintleri (Fasciola, Dicrocoelium, Paramphistomum, Taenia, Echinococcus, Moniezia, Askarit, kancalıkurt, kıl kurtları, Dirofilaria, Trichuris, vb.) cins ve/veya tür düzeyinde tanır, bunların oluşturduğu hastalıkları bilir.
  2. Karşılaştığı önemli helmintlerin ergin, yumurta, larva gibi gelişim şekillerini tanıyabilir, büyük helmintleri çıplak göz veya büyüteçle trematod, sestod, nematod olarak ayırabilir.
  3. Students will obtain basic skills in using parasitological tools to identify helminth parasites in different systematic groups. They identify parasites from different animal groups by use of a range an helminth diagnostic tools.
  4. Students can recognise such as egg, larva and/or adult form by the naked eye or with magnifying glass or microscop and they may classifed as major group.
  5. Ülkemizde sorun oluşturan türlerin genel morfoloji, biyoloji ve patojenitelerini bilir, teşhis ve tedavilerini yapabilir, korunmak için basit önlemler alabilir
  6. Hayvanlardan insanlara bulaşan önemli helmint türlerinin bulaşma ve korunma yöntemlerini bilir ve bunların hayvan ve insanlarda oluşturduğu zararları önleyebilir veya azaltabilir.

Course Contents
General information was given about of helminth classes such as Trematoda, Cestoda, Nematoda, Nematomorpha, Acanthocephala. And helmint parasites of livestock and other domestic animals and pets, especially found in Turkey and its founded organs, morphology, pathogenesis, life cycles and prevalence, therapy and control methods are explained.
