Vezirköprü Vocational School - Child Development Programme

General Description

History

It has been deemed appropriate that the Ondokuz Mayıs University Senate decided to open under the name of Department of Health Programs of the Child Development Program, with the decision of the 2008/27 number. The request for the opening of the section of the Higher Education Council was accepted with the decision no. 011397 dated 05.05.2008. 2008-2009 Academic year started with 40 + 40 quotas. The Department of Health Programs was changed to "Child Care and Youth Services" with the decision of Higher Education Council, and the Child Development Program continued to provide education services under this department.

When the program is successfully completed and program qualifications are provided, the degree of Associate Degree in the field of Child Development is obtained.

The acceptance of students is based on the results of the LYS organized by OSYM in accordance with the relevant legislation of the Higher Education Institution.

Specific Arrangements For Recognition Of Prior Learning (Formal, Non-Formal and Informal)

Students who will apply for this division are to graduate from the "Child Development Departments" of the Girls' Vocational High Schools, Multiple Program High Schools.

Qualification Requirements and Regulations

In order to obtain the Associate's Degree in the field of Child Development, students must successfully complete the required compulsory and elective courses (total of 120 ECTS) required to be taken in the program and have a CGPA of at least 2.0 out of 4.00.

Profile of The Programme

The purpose of the Child Development Program is to educate the children who are aware of the developmental characteristics of children aged 0-18, who have gained the knowledge of child development and education, who have learned about habits and needs, who can take measures against the problems that children may encounter and prepare children with basic education.

Occupational Profiles of Graduates With Examples

Students graduated from child development program; Teacher and teacher assistant in special kindergarten and kindergartens, administrator, teacher and teacher assistant in special education and rehabilitation centers, kindergarten teacher in kindergarten and kindergartens attached to primary education, parental educator in private research and consulting companies, Prime Ministry Family Research In the Office of the President, the State Planning Organization, the Social Services and Child Protection Agency, the Children's Places, the Family Counseling Centers and the Orphanages. Ministry of Health Mother and Child Health and Family Planning Centers and hospitals. In children's hospitals and hospital schools, in juvenile courts and in educational homes attached to the Ministry of Justice. the child trainer may be employed as a child care assistant to the children of working parents. They can also take part in the preparation and execution of radio and television children's and youth programs and educational programs, and can work as designers in children's publications and toys.

Access to Further Studies

Candidates who have completed associate degree education can apply to undergraduate programs determined by ÖSYM by entering Vertical Transfer Exam conducted by OSYM.

Examination Regulations, Assessment and Grading

It is necessary that at least 70% of the courses and at least 80% of the applications should be continued in order for each student to enroll in classes at the beginning of the semester and to enter the final exam. Students are required to take at least one midterm and a final exam for each course. Midterm exam (grades obtained from measurement tools such as homework, laboratory exams, quiz, etc. can be taken into account for the evaluation of the achievement score) contribution is 40% and the contribution of the final exam is 60%. All exams are evaluated over 100 points. There is a requirement to take at least 50 points from the final exam. In order to be successful, the overall weighted grade average must be at least 2.0.

In order to successfully complete the program, it is necessary to pass all the courses available in the program (120 ECTS credits) and obtain a GPA of at least 2.0 out of 4.00

Programme Outcomes

  1. It supports the developmental areas (physical, mental, emotional, social) of children in special education institutions, preschools and playrooms in children's clinics.
  2. We endeavor to educate children to acquire personality, to prepare for life and to a higher education institution, and apply them comprehensively, using education methods based on modern intelligence based on multi-intelligence understanding.
  3. It observes the behavior of the children who are responsible, organizes activities that enhance and clarify their abilities.
  4. They have the ability to guide children to gain good habits and take preventive measures against bad behavior.
  5. Children who are responsible can give drama, painting, music, computer and gymnastic training, and can benefit from modern teaching and learning tools.
  6. Know basic concepts about development and developmental periods, organize events as developmental psychology requires
