General Description

History

Electronics Technology continues educational activities under the Department of Electronics and Automation within Yeşilyurt Demir Çelik Vocational High School by segregating from Samsun Vocational High School with the proposal of rectorship of Ondokuz Mayıs University and decision of Higher Education Council taken on 19.01.2011.

Qualification Awarded

The graduates who successfully complete the program are given associate degree program diploma with the title of Electronics Technician.

Specific Admission Requirements

Candidates who are graduates of Vocational and Technical Secondary Schools have the right to register to the program without taking any entrance exam. The list of higher education programs that the candidates who can benefit this right is decided by ÖSYM.

Specific Arrangements For Recognition Of Prior Learning (Formal, Non-Formal and Informal)

Exemption exam is held in the beginning of each academical year for Computer and Foreign Language (5-i) courses that exist in the education program for the students who register for any program of our Vocational High School. The students believing that they satisfy the learning outcomes of these courses have the right to take the exams. Those who are successful on the exam can be exempt from the related course(s).

Qualification Requirements and Regulations

Completing all of the courses existing in the program corresponding to 120 ECTS.

Profile of The Programme

To school individuals who has the skills to design, fabricate and install electronical structures that are needed for construction of new systems needed by the industry, who has the experience for every maintenance, reparation and management of industrial businesses, who can take charge in design and fabrication units. In addition to the compulsory courses, there exist elective courses along with the vocational courses in the education plan for the students for their benefit.

Graduated students are employed in public sector concerned with electronics and automation.

Access to Further Studies

The students who complete the program can transit to the undergraduate programs of Computer and Control Teaching, Electrical Engineering, Electrical Teaching, Electrical-Electronic Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Electronic Teaching, Electronic and Computer Teaching, Electronic and Communication Engineering, Electronic and Communication Teaching, Industrial Technology Teaching, Energy Teaching, Physics, Aviation Eletricity and Electronics, Control Teaching, Meteorology Engineering, Telecommunication Engineering, Telecommunication Teaching, Airplan Electricity-Electronics, Space Engineering in case they are successful in the external transfer exam.

Examination Regulations, Assessment and Grading

The terms of assessment and evaluation for every course, depending on the Education and Exam Regulations of Ondokuz Mayıs University, is described in detail in the Course Education Plan.

Graduation Requirements

The students who successfully complete the 120 ECTS deserve the associate’s degree. The students would have to make industrial training (30 work day) before day graduate.

Facilities

There are 3 teaching assistant in the program. Department has electronics and electrical laboratory, computer laboratory, physics laboratory and technical drawing studio.

Programme Outcomes

  1. In mathematics, science, and issues related to their areas to have adequate infrastructure.
  2. Using the basic level knowledge and skills in the field, interpret and evaluate data, identify problems, develop solutions to have the ability.
  3. Related to the field of computer-aided drafting and design using simulation programs, making drawings of the plans and projects related to professional fields give the ability to perform.
  4. Following the application of production processes in industrial and service sector to have the ability.
  5. Faced with unexpected situations in applications related to the field of producing solutions, ability to work with teams or individual to take responsibility.
  6. Awareness of the need for life-long learning, to follow developments in science and technology and continuous self-renewal with the skill.
  7. Occupational safety, health and environmental protection, and to be conscious.
  8. Required by the field to be able to use basic computer software and hardware.
  9. Profession-oriented enterprises and entrepreneurial spirit to recognize the institutional structures.
  10. Innovations in the field of effective communication techniques and be able to follow the judge to have knowledge of a foreign language.
  11. Are needed for applications related to the field of modern techniques, tools, and identify and effectively use information technologies.
