Yeşilyurt Demir Çelik Vocational School - Chemistry Technology Programme

General Description

History

Chemical Technology Program which continues its activities in education and training under the Department of Chemistry and Chemical Processing Technologies. The program separated from the structure of Samsun Vocational School at Yeşilyurt Iron Steel Vocational School with the proposal of OMU rectorship and decision of the Higher Education Council Meeting held on 19.01.2011.

Qualification Awarded

Chemistry Technician associate degree graduates who successfully complete the program are given names.

Specific Admission Requirements

Candidates who have graduated from vocational and technical secondary education institutions in their respective fields without an examination on relevant areas have the right to switch to the program. Take advantage of this right, the list of higher education programs related to their field of candidates is determined by ÖSYM.

Specific Arrangements For Recognition Of Prior Learning (Formal, Non-Formal and Informal)

The exemption exam held for courses of Computer and Foreign Language (5-i) that are in education and training curricula at the beginning of each academic year, for new students which are enrolled in all programs of Vocational school. The students who have the expected learning outcomes will right to take the exams. Those who pass the exam will be exempted from the course program for the course or courses.

Qualification Requirements and Regulations

A total of 120 ECTS credits equivalent of all courses in the program must completed successfully .

Profile of The Programme

The profile of the program have gained vocational qualifications that are required to train a qualified professional elements under the branches of Chemical Technology field, in line with scientific and technological developments, with also keeping in mind the needs of the sector. Towards this goal, have gained entrepreneurial, productive, human and environmentally friendly, self-confident intermediate elements (chemistry technicians) which have the basic knowledge in the field of chemistry and chemical technology, able to convert his knowledge and experience the practical applications and open to social and technological innovations, for qualified human resources and industry of our country.

Access to Further Studies

Students who have successfully graduated from the program, will enter the Vertical Transfer Examination which has organized by ÖSYM and if they are successful they will make transation;

Depending on the Education and Examination Regulations of OMU; assessment and evaluation for each course is described in detail in "Course Teaching Plan" .

Graduation Requirements

In addition to the eligibility requirements and the rules of application of the Industry-Based Training Students who successfully complete an internship under the name of the graduation requirements are fulfilled.
