General Description

History

Information Security Technology associate degree program, which is under the Department of Computer Technologies of our school, the first education in the academic year 2015-2016 40, II. teaching 40 started to be taught by taking students.

Qualification Awarded

With the theoretical and practical skills required for everyday increasing information security in the field of information technology,
the technicians are able to work as professional software engineers and technical support staff in the sector.
In addition, qualified personnel are being trained to be able to adapt quickly to rapidly developing computer technologies,
to collect necessary information, and to provide quick and accurate solutions to the problems related to processing these collected information.

Specific Admission Requirements

In our country, it is necessary to be successful in the Higher Education Institutions Examination (YKS) which is made by the Student
Selection and Placement Center (ÖSYM) for entrance to the universities. Depending on the scores they receive in the final exam,
they arrange the program preferences they can enter and send their preference forms to the Student Selection and Placement
Center. OSYM takes all applications, groups applicants according to points, places scores from highest to lowest, lists all available
programs according to preferred score, and places students in one of their preferred programs. Documents required for registration;
1- High school or balanced school diploma, 2- Placement result certificate made by OSYM.

Specific Arrangements For Recognition Of Prior Learning (Formal, Non-Formal and Informal)


Students in the Information Security Technology program may be exempt from certain courses within the framework of certain regulations. If the content and credits of the course taken in another institution are in accordance with the content of the course given in this program and are approved by the college administration, the student may be exempted from this dedense.

the technicians are able to work as professional software engineers and technical support staff in the sector. In addition, the aim of the society is to adapt to the rapidly developing computer technologies, to collect qualified information and to produce qualified
personnel who can produce fast and correct solutions to the problems related to processing these collected information.

Examination Regulations, Assessment and Grading

Examinations are held in writing. However, due to the nature of the course, the unit academic board decides whether to take the
exam verbally, both written and oral or practical, with the suggestion of the instructor. Oral exams are held with the participation of
at least two teaching staff authorized to teach. A student can take up to two lessons per day in that same year; distance education
programs and Ataturk's Principles and History of Turkish Revolution, Turkish Language, Occupational Health and Safety, Foreign
Language lessons and excuse exams. The number of examinations, announcements, implementation and evaluation procedures to
be carried out at the faculties where the system is applied will be separately determined by the Senate. Students are required to
enter at the time, place and place where the test is announced and to keep the student identification documents and any other
documents required.

In the units where the course system is applied in the university, the achievement score of a course is the sum of 40% of the
evaluation score in the semester and 60% of the score obtained from the semester or integration exam. The resultant half-figure is
raised to the whole number. In order to be considered a successful dersten, the grade / semester or cumulative exams score must
be at least 50.

The achievement grade refers to the 4th grading system of the raw achievement grade determined by the participation of the
students according to the weights of the grades given by the students in the semester / year activities and the semester / A relative
or absolute evaluation system is used in the calculation of students' success grades. In the units, the recommendation of the unit
board to be used, which is the absolute and relative evaluation system, and the approval of the Senate shall be determined. The
principles of measurement and evaluation of relative and absolute evaluation systems, the conditions and boundaries of
participating in the calculation of success grades in the relative evaluation system and the criteria for success grades are determined
by the Senate. Students who do not attend any of the two exams at the end of the year and who fail to score at least 50 out of 100
in this examination are deemed unsuccessful; this limit can be raised by the proposal of the relevant unit board and the decision of
the Senate.

Graduation Requirements

In order to graduate from this associate degree program, students must be successful in all courses in the curriculum of the
program and have completed at least 120 ECTS credits, 30 working days compulsory internship. Students are trained in this program
for 2 years (4 semesters).

Programme Outcomes

  1. He is familiar with the latest information on basic computer concepts and new technologies.
  2. It has basic knowledge about Mathematics and computer science.
  3. Has knowledge of hardware and software of computer security and has the knowledge to design and develop appropriate software.
  4. Having the skill of preparing algorithms in the field, giving the necessary knowledge to solve the problems, determining the platforms and products to develop the software, coding, testing and updating the defined software components, and having comparative interpretation skills of the results.
  5. It is able to recognize the concepts of internet and security, to develop interactive, dynamic design of web pages with graphics, animation and user, to develop coding and server side program which can prepare web project.
  6. Ability to set up, use, manage, configure and tune operating systems. Perform software installation, testing, committing of computer crimes, data security and storage, detect malfunctioning computer problems and gain skills to solve problems.
  7. To design and manage database in client / server environment, to take security precautions, visual processes and programming, web interfaces, graphic editing, computer assisted professional drawing operations.
  8. To be able to produce visual and structural programs for professional projects using office software, internet, graphic based design programs, using server software and hardware, and comparing and using modules.
  9. Having the ability to use research methods to design a system in the field, to write project works individually or as a team, to get over the problems, to interpret the findings, to write technical reports and to present them effectively.
  10. To follow the production processes in an industry and service sector to increase the application skills and to develop solutions to improve the performance when necessary.
