General Description

History

Biomedical Equipment Technology program is established under the Department of Electricity and Energy Technologies within Yeşilyurt Demir Çelik Vocational High School with the proposal of rectorship of Ondokuz Mayıs University and decision of Higher Education Council taken on 2012. For the first time, student admission is 2016-2017 education season.

Qualification Awarded

Those who completed the biomedical device technology program "Biomedical Equipment Technician" is awarded. Biomedical equipment technicians, assemble into place in accordance with the scheme, does the constant care, when determines the location of the fault and repair the tools and devices that used in the medical and biological sciences.

Specific Admission Requirements

In the framework of regulations setted by Higher Education Council (YÖK),the admission of students to this program can be made with exams which is prepared by the ÖSYM establishment. Students who want to attend the program after they reported their preferences according to their score on this exam is placed to relevant programs by Student Selection and Placement Center (ÖSYM).

Specific Arrangements For Recognition Of Prior Learning (Formal, Non-Formal and Informal)

The exemption exam held for courses of Computer and Foreign Language (5-i) that are in education and training curricula at the beginning of each academic year, for new students which are enrolled in all programs of Vocational school. The students who have the expected learning outcomes will right to take the exams. Those who pass the exam will be exempted from the course program for the course or courses.

A total of 120 ECTS credits equivalent of all courses in the program must completed successfully

Profile of The Programme

Biomedical equipment technicians, assemble into place in accordance with the scheme, does the constant care, when determines the location of the fault and repair the tools and devices that used in the medical and biological sciences. In order to give a technical education towards educating qualified intermediate members, all vocational lessons are supported with lab sessions. Our mission is to graduate fully-equipped technical members as industry desires that whose qualifications are suitable for required by Professional Competence Agency Level 5.

Occupational Profiles of Graduates With Examples

Biomedical equipment technicians can take part in public and private hospitals, dispensaries and laboratories.

Access to Further Studies

They can also transfer to a 4-year license degree program in the disciplines listed below, upon their success in the examination performed by Council of Higher Education:

2- Electrical and Electronics Engineering
3- Electronic Engineering
4- Electronics and Communications Engineering

Graduation Requirements

In addition to the eligibility requirements and the rules of application of the Industry-Based Training Students who successfully complete an internship under the name of the graduation requirements are fulfilled

There are 2 lecturers in the program. Department has electrical and electronics laboratory, computer laboratory, physics laboratory and technical drawing studio.

Programme Outcomes

  1. Matematik, fen bilimleri ve kendi alanları ile ilgili konularda yeterli alt yapıya sahip olmak.
  2. Alanında edindiği temel düzeydeki bilgi ve becerileri kullanarak, verileri yorumlayabilme ve değerlendirebilme, sorunları tanımlayabilme, çözüm önerileri geliştirebilme becerisine sahip olmak.
  3. Sanayi ve hizmet sektöründeki üretim süreçlerini izleyerek uygulama becerisine sahip olmak.
  4. Alanı ile ilgili uygulamalarda öngörülmeyen durumlarla karşılaştığında çözüm üretebilme, takımlarda sorumluluk alabilme veya bireysel çalışma yapabilme becerisi ile donatılmış olmak.
  5. Yaşam boyu öğrenmenin gerekliliği bilincini, bilim ve teknolojideki gelişmeleri izleme ve kendini sürekli yenileme becerisini kazandırmak.
  6. İş güvenliği, işçi sağlığı ve çevre koruma bilgisi ve bilincine sahip olmak.
  7. Alanının gerektirdiği temel düzeyde bilgisayar yazılım ve donanımlarını kullanabilme becerisine sahip olmak.
  8. Mesleğine yönelik işletmelerin kurumsal yapılarını tanır ve girişimci ruha sahip olur.
  9. Etkili iletişim kurma tekniklerine hâkim ve alanındaki yenilikleri takip edebilecek düzeyde bir yabancı dil bilgisine sahip olmak.
  10. Alanı ile ilgili uygulamalar için gerekli olan modern teknikleri, araçları ve bilişim teknolojilerini belirleme ve etkin kullanabilmek.
  11. Tarihi değerlere saygılı, sosyal sorumluluk, evrensel, toplumsal ve mesleki etik bilincine sahip olmak.
