General Description

History

The Agricultural Machinery Department was established in 1991 and began graduate study in 1999. There are 1 Professors, 6 Associate Professors and 3 Research Assistants making a total of 10 academics in the Department.

Qualification Awarded

The Bachelor's Degree in Agricultural Machinery is awarded to the graduates who have successfully completed all courses in the curriculum.

Specific Admission Requirements

High school diploma and to be placed through the Undergraduate Placement Exam-YKS (for more information, please visit web site of www.osym.gov.tr) are necessary for approval and registration. Within a quota, the Program accepts foreign students taken the University Entrance Exam for foreign student made by Ondokuz Mayis University.

Specific Arrangements For Recognition Of Prior Learning (Formal, Non-Formal and Informal)

Equivalence adopted by the Council of Higher Education institutions can be admitted. High School graduates who are successful in vertical transfer exam to receive a bachelor's degree may be admitted to be able to continue their education. These students learn from vocational high school graduates by the department concerned before taking into account the lessons, and succeeded in determining the adjustment is made. An examination is being held for the level of foreign language and students may be exempted from these courses in the curriculum if they receive a passing grade.

Qualification Requirements and Regulations

Students must take and pass all courses at minimum 120 credits (240 ECTS) including graduation thesis and internships that are explained by the Education and Exam Regulation of Ondokuz Mayis University.

Profile of The Programme

Graduates of the Department of Agricultural Engineers can work very well as operate in all areas, the department curriculum in the Agricultural Electrification, Natural Energy Sources, Greenhouse Technology, Agricultural Tractors, thermal engines, Agronomy, Soil Tillage Mechanization, Manure Planting Mechanization, Agricultural Mechanization in war, harvest-thresing Mechanization, Post Harvest Operations Mechanization, Agricultural Machinery Management and Planning, Animal Production Mechanization in agriculture, such as Computer Applications can have expertise in the fields of knowledge and skills to perform the task.

Occupational Profiles of Graduates With Examples

The Ministry of Agriculture of the General Directorate of Agricultural Research Institutes work as engineers, public and private sectors of agriculture, food, environment-related fields of work as an agricultural engineer.

Access to Further Studies

Successful completion of the graduate degree program, on condition that the current note ALES apply to graduate programs in their respective fields.

Examination Regulations, Assessment and Grading

Examinations a) Mid-term exam: at least one midterm examination is given for each course. However, built by the students during the semester faculty projects, assignments, laboratories, workshops and similar activities can count instead of the mid-term. b) Final exam: final exam of a course, that course is completed at the end of the semester. Attendance of students who meet the specified date and time must take the final exam of the course. Programme Outcomes

  1. Basic engineering knowledge, knowledge of the biological material, agricultural technologies, basic principles, design and operation of machinery in agriculture, energy use, and to have theoretical and practical knowledge.
