General Description

History

Our department was established in 2003 within the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, University OMU and began to undergraduate education from the academic year 2003-2004. The master's and doctoral programs started since 2006.

Specific Admission Requirements

Graduates of veterinary, dentistry and biomedical engineering faculties, zoologist, biologist and archaelogist to be eligible for Veterinary Anatomy Master Program.
Applications will be accepted according to the Postgraduate and Master Training Regulations of Ondokuz Mayıs University.

Qualification Requirements and Regulations

1. Based on undergraduate-level qualifications, to have the ability to deepen the knowledge and to develop the level of expertise.
2. To use knowledge in the area of expertize for problem solving and/or practice skills in the interddisciplinary studies by understanding interdisciplinary interaction of the field of Anatomy.
3. To use practical and theoretical advanced knowledge acquired in the field of Anatomy.
4. To analyze the problems encountered in the field of Anatomy by using research methods.
5. To conduct a study independently that requires expertise in the field of Anatomy.
6. To develop new strategic approaches and to create solutions for unpredictable complex problems encountered in the field of Anatomy.
7. To be capable of leadership in the environments that require to solve problems in the field of Anatomy.
8. To evaluate with a critical approach specialized knowledge and skills acquired in the field of Anatomy.
9. To present sistematically current developments in the field of Anatomy and own studies supported by quantitative and qualitative data to groups in the field of specialization or other groups as written, oral and visual presentations
10. Communicate oral or in written by using at least one foreign language at least in the level of European Language Portfolio B2. To use information and communication technologies in the advanced level together with computer software in the area of specialization.

Master of Veterinary Anatomy graduate, will have knowledge of the basic needs in the field of Veterinary Anatomy, animal species will have a better ability to recognize and independent research

Graduation Requirements

The registration, attendance and marking principles are ruled out according to the principles of the Graduate Training Regulations of Ondokuz Mayis University. If this grade exceeds or equals 65, the student will succeed that course.

‘G’ grade is valuable for non-credit lesons.

Fail Grades:
E: Excusable, fail.
F1: Inexcusable, not attended; is not permitted to sit for the mid-term or final exam.
F2: Attended the course, but did not take the mid-term / final or make-up exam.
F3: Attended the course, took the mid-term / final exam. Yet, failed due to earning a grade below the pass grade in the exam or subject.

It’s obligatory to attend to the theoretical lessons, to complete minimum 50 (ECTS) credits score, to prepare a thesis and to be successful in written, oral and thesis exams in veterinary anatomy master program.

Cadaver preparation and storage room (34 m2)

Bone maceration and storage room (10 m2)

The laboratory is well equipped for research on gross and sub gross anatomy. We have Olympus SZ-61 TRC stereo-microscope and Olympus C-5060 digital camera with microscope attachment, micro dissection set and computer.
