General Description

History

Institute of Social Sciences of Ondokuz Mayıs University is established in the date of 22.01.1985 depends on 2547 numbered Law of Higher Education. It provides services in Kurupelit Campus dating from 2000.

Qualification Awarded

The graduate program of the department or other departments that are associated with not less than 24 credits and a minimum of seven courses and seminar area and all of the successful completion of the course prepared and selected by the jury on the subject successfully defended a thesis,students could have master's degree in Philosophy.

Specific Admission Requirements

Candidates to apply for the Master's program must have a bachelor's degree. For the thesis master's degree programme applicants to graduate programs is considered at least 55 points ALES score type or equivalent to ALES like GMAT or GRE . Student admission to graduate programs ALES score type to search for the relevant science / art determined by the recommendation of the head of the Institute Board. Which areas can apply for graduate programs on science / art branch is determined by the decision of the academic board.

Qualification Requirements and Regulations

Graduate students not less than 24 credits to graduate courses and seminars have successfully completed at least 7 and thesis must be defended.

The Master's program is provides the ability to the student's; access to information by carrying out research, evaluation and interpretation of information.

Gratuated students are entitled to apply to doctoral programs.

Examination Regulations, Assessment and Grading

For each course a mid-term exam or an assignment a instead of the exam score of 40% and final exam score with 60 % is applied.

Graduation Requirements

With the successful completion of all courses in the graduate program of the department or other departments and adequate credit , students selected by the jury on the subject area is awarded a Master in Philosophy.

On Department of Philosophy Block D-1 has been serving with 1 associate professor, three assistant associate professors, 1 instructor.

Programme Outcomes

  1. To develop the level of expertise knowledge based on the information obtained from the license period, in the field of philosophy.
  2. To be able to use philosophical way of thinking in favor of the individual and society.
  3. To be able to use philosophical way of thinking in favor of the individual and society.
  4. To gain the ability to communicate positively in institutions where Formal and non-formal education is given
  5. To have a habit of problems of philosophy over interdisciplinary study
  6. To be able to report every kind of individual, social and even global effort, philosophical, social, psychological, and religious issues, events and thoughts by analysis and synthesis,on scientific level,
  7. To evaluate knowledge and skills obtained in the field of philosophy and analyze the results of the research with a critical approach
  8. To achieve results Philosophy and social sciences research on the outcomes of individual, social and global impact in by understanding the cause-and-effect relationships
  9. To increase individual and community awareness of the philosophical thought by projects in the areas of philosophy and organizing social events,
  10. To achieve the capability for the events and issues of Individual, social and global nature topics, identification, editing, evaluation and solutions.
  11. Understanding the importance ofphilosophy on individual and community life , to contribute and develop analytical thought .
  12. To gain the ability to conduct scientific studies by developing the language skills necessary for philosophy, at least one foreign language,
