History

Department of Animal Nutrition and Nutritional Diseases, Veterinary Faculty, Ondokuz Mayıs University, Kurupelit Campus, Atakum/Samsun. Veterinary Faculty was founded in 2003.

Having succsefuly completed the program, the doctor of science degree is awarded.

Specific Admission Requirements

Faculty of veterinary science graduates apply to the program. Candidates are also available in English certificate of competence (YDS,KPDS, UDS or equivalent). Applications are considered according to the Regulation of OMU graduate and doctoral education.

Specific Arrangements For Recognition Of Prior Learning (Formal, Non-Formal and Informal)

Students who enrolled to the graduate program directly or come from horizontal transition may be exempt from some courses under certain regulations.

Qualification Requirements and Regulations

Have taken at least 24 credits (60 ECTS) from the courses of the department or other associated departments within the graduate program and one seminar course to be successful. Defense the thesis in front of the jury successfuly.

Profile of The Programme

This program (Doctorate) provides training in particular fields of animal nutrition and nutritional diseases. Program includes core and elective courses related to the field. Courses cover both theoretical lectures and laboratory works. Necessary equipments, machinery and a research hen house are available.

Occupational Profiles of Graduates With Examples

Graduates of this program may be employed in state or private sector (universities, ministry of food, agriculture and animal husbandry, feed mill sector, poultry, dairy or beef sector, etc).

Access to Further Studies

Candidates upon successful completion of master's degree program may apply PhD program.

Programme Outcomes

  1. Hayvan besleme ve beslene hastalıkları alanında bilgi ve deneyim sahibi olur 2. Alanıyla ilgili teknolojik gelişmeleri takip eder, mesleki bilgisini günceller. 3. Yem ve yem ham maddeleri ile çiftlik hayvanlarının besin maddeleri ihtiyacı ve beslenme hastalıkları konusunda bilgi sahibi olur. 4. Çiftlik hayvanlarının fizyolojik durumuna göre rasyon formülasyonu, analitik sistemler, enerji ve protein değerlendirme sistemleri konusnda deneyim sahibi olur. 5. Çiftlik hayvanlarının rasyonel beslenmesi ile beslenme hastalıklarının önlenmesi ve tedavisi konularında beceri sahibi olur. 6. Alanı ile ilgili bilimsel gelişmeleri yakından izleyebilir. 7. Kuramsal olarak belirlenen bakım besleme protokollerini hazırlar ve kullanır. 8. Yetki ve sorumlulukların farkında olarak mesleğinin uzmanlık olduğu alanı icra etme bilincine sahip olur. 9. Bireysel ve grup çalışmalarında sorumluluk alır, alınan görevi becerileri doğrultusunda yerine getirir. 10. Uzmanlık alanı dışındaki problemlerde diğer uzmanlar ile işbirliği içinde, ekip üyesi olarak çözüme katkıda bulunur. 11. Paydaşlarıyla iletişimde olarak, bölgesel ve ulusal düzeydeki sorunlara çözüm üretme çabası gösterir. 12. Bilimsel bilginin üretim ve kullanılma metotlarını kavrar. 13.
