General Description

History

Academic staff of the Department provides “Reproduction and Artifical Insemination (Veterinary) Master of Degree Programme Education” by Institute of Health Sciences only for graduates from faculty of veterinary medicine. The department’s academic staff currently consists of 1 professor, 1 associate professor, 1 assistant professors and 2 PhD students who maintain the research programmes and laboratory studies within their specialized field.

Applications, directed by Ondokuz Mayıs University Institute of Health Sciences, will be accepted according to the Postgraduate and Doctorate Training Regulations of Ondokuz Mayıs University. Interview will be made with the applicants. The language of the programme is Turkish.

Profile of The Programme

The Doctorate programme consists of 8 semesters. 4 semesters for the lectures and 4 semesters for the thesis and 31 classae with a total of 237,5 credits.

Graduation Requirements

It’s obligatory to attend to the theoretical lessons, to complete minimum 60 credit couses, to prepare at least one seminar, a thesis and to be successful in written, oral and thesis exams in Reproduction and Artifical Insemination (Veterinary) Doctorate Programme.

Laboratories:

Laboratory of Reproduction and Andrology

The laboratory is well equipped with a phase contrast microscope with heating tray, a stereo microscope, a fluorescence attachment microscope, a sterilizer , a heating tray, a deep freeze (-20 C), a refrigerator.Andrological and spermatological examinations can be done in this laboratory.

  2. The Doctorate programme consists of 8 semesters.
  3. The Doctorate programme consists of 31 courses.
  4. To gain ability of research scientific new-ness and literature of this new-ness.
  5. To gain presentation results with right following research literature.
  6. To teach knowledge of reproduction and detection artificial insemination ability in all animal species.
  7. Makes learning throughout life his priority and knows that research based information is the best acquisition.
  8. Contribute to the transition of the community to an information society and its sustainability process by introducing scientific, technological, social or cultural improvements.
  9. To gain knowledge and practice ability in oestrous synchronization and Embryo transfer.
  10. To gain practice ability of consistently developmented reproductive biotechnological methods.
  11. To detect importance of artificial insemination in country animal husbandry.
  12. Has the skill to develop a scientific method for a newly defined/ newly composed problem on a higher level.
  13. Ability to communicate and discuss orally, in written and visually with peers by using a foreign language.
  14. To understand optimal time of insemination and detection of this times.
  15. To understand result of Andrological examinations.
  16. To teach how to diagnose animals in oestrous, oestrous symptoms.
