Information for Mobility Students

Transportation in the City

The main campus of the University is located on Samsun-Bafra-Sinop road and 10 km. Away from the centrum. Travelling with public transportation (tram, bus, dolmuş) is very convenient and takes approximately 25 minutes from the campus to the city centre.

Arriving in Samsun

By Air

Both domestic and international flights are periodically available to Çarşamba International Airport which is 24 km from city.


By Road

Transportation to Samsun by road is very convenient, long distance buses are avalable from and to every region of Turkey periodically. Shuttle service is also availavle to city and the University from Main Bus Station.



Samsun enjoys a mild climate with hot summer and warm winters. The hottest and most humid months are July and August whereas the coldest months are January and February. Avarage summer temperature is between 25-32°C and average winter temperature is betwee 0-15°C.


National Currency

National Currency of Turkey is Turkish Liras (TL). Banknotes in circulation are 5, 10, 20, 50, 100 and 200TL. Coins in circulation are 1TL and 5, 10, 25 and 50 KRŞ. (kuruş).



Student Visa and Resident Permit

All international students must obtain a student visa from the embassies in their country before their arrival.All international students in Turkey, regardless of status, must register with, and obtain, a Residence Permit from the Bureau of Foreign Residence Registration at the provincial Directorate of Security in Turkey within one month after their arrival to Turkey.
